India's oldest city of Varanasi has always been a popular tourist destination. U.P chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday 2 Sept 2018, inaugurated hi-tech cruise 'Alaknanda' taking the inaugural ride on the banks of river Ganga in Khidkiya Ghat Varanasi . This is the first time a private company has started a cruise ferry for tourists.
Now they will have better options with more security to see the beauty of Varanasi Ghats and world famous 'evening Aarti' and 'Subah -e- Banaras' of Ganga Ghats.
now, the Varanasi Ganga ghats could only be seen via small and medium sized country boats. This double decker cruise has many features, with around 2,000 square feet area.
Facility in Luxury Alaknand Cruise in Varanasi
The director of cruise service Vikas Malvyia informed him that the lower deck accommodates 60 passengers at a time with all the latest facilities , while there is a 24-seat restaurant on the upper deck. The cruise requires minimum water depth of five feet .
The cruise, a 30-metre double-decked modern line, is a startup venture of Varanasi based Nordic Cruiseline. With a full-fledged kitchen it offers popular dishes of Varanasi like Kachori-Jalebi, Samosas and Bati-Chokha. It will run between Assi Ghat and Panchganga Ghat for a two-hour ride of around 12 km in the morning and evening.
