  Mathura – Birthplace of Lord Krishna, India

Mathura is located at a distance of 58 km from Agra. Mathura the birthplace of Lord Krishna and famous for its culture and heritage and as one of the major pilgrimage centers for the Hindus, is situated within the Golden Triangle of Delhi-Jaipur-Agra. Mathura is in Uttar Pradesh. Very much connected with the Hindu epic Mahabharata, Krishna is said to have spent his childhood and adolescence in Braj. According to the Garuda Purana, Mathura along with Ayodhya, Avantika, Kasi, Puri, Kanchi and Dwarka are the seven sites which grant moksha.

Though the city is Mathura is mainly associated with the life of Lord Krishna, it is also sacred to Jains and Buddhists. The Ghats and the tranquil banks of river Yamuna give Mathura a serene feel. Delhi the capital city of India is situated at a distance of 216 km from Agra. Delhi is a must visit place as it has a lot to offer to the tourists. Delhi has several places having religious significance like Jama Masjid, Akshardham Temple and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Sacred Heart Cathedral.
