Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth on Tuesday said educated and self-reliant can be a great asset in bringing new perspective, investment and ability to home country India.
“The Indian diaspora can help India grow and in turn India can help out the countries where diaspora is located by developing opportunities to work together,” said Jugnauth in his keynote address at the inaugural function of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas convention at Bada Lalpur.
“I truly encourage the establishment of a diaspora knowledge network. The diaspora connect can indeed be a powerful instrument in face of increasing challenges and significantly contribute to transformation of our country,” he added.
He announced that Mauritius will host an International Bhagwad Geeta Mahotsava in collaboration with the Haryana government next month to strengthen the cultural ties between the two countries.
“I would also like to announce that we will also hold a Bhojpuri Mahotsava for the first time in Mauritius next year,” he said adding that Mauritius has preserved the language of its ancestors.
