Religious Shrines in Ajmer

Dargah of Sufi Saint Moinuddin Chishti :-

It is mausoleum of Great Sufi Saint Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti. He was popularly called Garib Nawaz. It is located at the foot of Taragarh Hills. It is famous pilgrimage for both where Mughal Emperor have visited several times.

Dargah of Miyan Syed Husain :-

It is mausoleum dedicated to slain Hazrat Miran Syed Husian Asghar Khangswar. He was the governor of Ajmer after its conquest by Sultan Shahabuddin Ghori.

Mausoleum of Shaikh Husain :-

It houses the tomb of Khwaja Husain Chishti Rehamatullah Alaih (Shaikh Husain Ajmeri) who was the Peer (Mater) of Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Emperor Akbar's Time.

Jama Al Tamish :-

It is open-for-all religious shrine. It is testimony of unique Hindu-Muslim unity in India.

Lakes in Ajmer

Ana Sagar Lake :-

Constructed by Maharaja Anaji (1135–1150 AD), lake was renovated and reconstructed by Mughal Rulers Jahangir and Shah Jahan. It is a beautiful picnic spot to enjoy some peaceful moments along water-body.

Lake Foy Sagar :-

It is an attractive artificial lake was created as a famine relief project in 1892. It is situated in the outskirts of the city. Lake landscape takes you to a beautiful calm atmosphere.

Pushkar Lake :-

Located about 11 KM from Ajmer, Pushkar is an important tourist destination. It is believed to be created by Hindu God Brahma. Brahma Temple is located along lake. It is a major pilgrimage center of Hindu and Buddhist Religions.

Akbari Fort & Museum :-

Built by Mughal Emperor Akbar as a fort, place is now converted into a museum. This was the place where Mughal Emperor Jahangir granted Firman (official paper of Mughal Emperor) to British for trade in India.
