It is a "funeral poem in marble" or some state a declaration of a "fantasy." Taj Mahal (which means Crown Palace) is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of sovereign Mumtaz Mahal at the lower chamber. The grave of Shah Jahan was added to it later. The sovereign's genuine name was Arjumand Banu.

The external divider is encompassed by a canal. The chief access to the Agra fortification is the Delhi Gate.
