Allahabad Fort & Ashoka Pillar:
Allahabad Fort built by Emperor Ashoka but repaired by Emperor Akbar in 1583 is situated near the banks of the Yamuna River, close to the Triveni. It is praised for its architectural design, and is the largest fort constructed by Akbar. Visitors who wish to visit this palace must take prior permission from the Commandant as the fort is presently under the custody of Indian army and also is not open for visitors.
Allahabad Fort encloses the famous Akshayvat.
