When to Plan a trip to Northern India:

Northern India covers Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

Northern India experiences Extreme weather conditions of winters and summers so it’s better to avoid peak winter (after mid December till January) and summer months (May-June). Also, most of the fairs, festival and cultural events fall in months of October to March. State sponsored cultural events take place during these months keeping in mind extremes of weather.

So, best time to plan a trip to Northern India is October-March months.

When to Plan a trip to South India:

Best time to plan a trip to Southern Indian States like Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Kerala is winters and summers. These states don’t experience any extreme climate due to their nearness to sea.

Seasons of some festivals like Boat Race in Kerala, Ugadi and Pongal in Andhra and Tamil Nadu are best time to visit these states.
